Early Scan
Early Pregnancy Scan - £80
We offer early pregnancy scans from 6 weeks of pregnancy
An early pregnancy scan can be performed to establish how many babies are present, to make sure there is a heartbeat and to provide an estimation of the due date.
This type of scan is generally not available on the NHS before 12 weeks. It can be particularly reassuring in the instance of previous miscarriage, previous surgery or when the mother is not feeling pregnant. This does NOT replace the first trimester scan offered by the NHS at 12 week.
In a recent update, following discussions with the Early Pregnancy Units which come under the East Sussex Hospitals trust, they are now happy to accept our early pregnancy scans due to the fact we are fully qualified and HCPC registered. Historically if an anomaly was found during an early scan, the hospitals would not accept this and would need to scan for themselves followed by a repeat scan 2 weeks later. Due to our wealth of experience they are now happy to work with us, until now the Hospital Trust would not accept private scans from because many private clinics have unqualified staff performing the scans.
