Discovery Ultrasound Kent & Sussex is an independent, private ultrasound clinic owned and run by Rachel Sharman, an experienced Ultrasound Practitioner. We offer a range of scans from early pregnancy to fertility & gynaecology.

Get To Know Us
The sonographers at Discovery Ultrasound are fully qualified and very experienced. They hold postgraduate ultrasound qualifications and have been chosen to work with us due not only to their excellent professional skills, but their friendly and welcoming personalities. All are registered with the Health Professions Council. Rachel and other sonographers also still work in the NHS and are up to date with current practice.
At Discovery Ultrasound, we have a GE Voluson E8 ultrasound machine, with HD live – the very latest in technology which produces amazing images. At this time we believe we are the only clinic in the region to offer this technology.

Meet Our Team
Rachel Sharman
Owner
Rachel is the owner of Discovery Ultrasound and is an advanced Ultrasound practitioner.
Rachel obtained her degree in 1998 in Diagnostic Radiography and her postgraduate diploma in Medical Ultrasound in 2003. She has been a sonographer in busy London teaching hospitals as well as more recently in district general hospitals. Rachel was also the Regional Obstetric Ultrasound Screening Co-ordinator for the South East region, employed by the NHS Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme in the education, audit and supervision of Sonographers in the ultrasound element of the Combined Screening Test (performed in the first trimester), and has been a speaker at national obstetric conferences.
Rachel is a member of the Society of Radiographers and the British Medical Ultrasound Society.
Most importantly, Rachel is a Mum! And understands the joy and anxiety of pregnancy!
